    I’m Not Biased

    Anastasia Settle, Case Management Liaison
    Carlisle Medical

This is a one-hour Ethics CEU focusing on ethical behavior and bias. It teases out the most frequent kinds of bias, discusses why we have bias, and teaches the participant to recognize and respond to both internal and external bias.

    Key Learning Objectives:
    • The participant will be able to identify how and why bias exists.
    • Attendees will understand the most common types of bias.
    • Students of this class will have tools to evaluate and assess their own biases.

    About the Speaker:

Anastasia graduated from IU in 1991 with a nursing degree. Initially working in a hospital, life events conspired to move her into the Workers Compensation Arena in 1998 and a Case Management career was begun. Anastasia has practiced Case Management in both community and the Workers Compensation settings in Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, and Florida. She obtained an Advanced Ministry Degree from Boyce College/SBTS in 2017. She currently works as a Case Management Liaison coordinating and volunteers for the local homeless coalition in SW FL where she resides.

While in nursing school, Anastasia participated on the Ethics board for a local hospital which sparked her interest in this field. She has since further studied Ethics while at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Anastasia also regularly interacts with various groups and peoples that suffer from discrimination within our society including members of the LGBTQI+, homeless, and religious communities. Anastasia has had the opportunity to speak on Ethics, Workplace Violence, various specific health topics, and about the Case Management process to many organizations including CMSA, IWCI, ASIA (Arkansas), SHRM (FL), SAWCA, and several insurance companies.

Currently Anastasia works for Carlisle Medical as the Case Management Liaison interacting with the multidisciplinary team including Case Management, Durable Medical Equipment specialists, and Pharmacists to ensure that the care provided to the persons that we have the privilege of caring for truly have the benefit of our exceptional team.
