    How to Navigate Conflict: 2 Communication Tools to Make Conflict an Opportunity for Positive Change

    This presentation will be interactive, collaborative, and focused both on building skills and learning simple (yet effective) tools. “Conflict Resolution” is not a new topic, and participants have likely heard and explored several different frameworks and approaches. But the challenge of navigating conflict persists. For this reason, this presentation will focus less on theory, and more on: 1) understanding the barriers to conflict resolution success, 2) learning from each other’s experiences, and 3) on the tangible, action-oriented strategies participants can leverage as soon as they return to their desks.

    Participants will leave with:

    1. An understanding of their primary, individual barrier to effectively navigating conflict, and a strategy to overcome it
    2. The ability to name the most common sources of conflict, and strategies to proactively overcome them
    3. A tool/template to prepare for difficult conversations
    4. A tool/framework to facilitate difficult conversations

    About the Speaker:

    Hannah is the Founder and CEO of Hannah McGowan Coaching LLC which provides custom talent development solutions to organizations facing engagement, retention, and productivity challenges. She started her career at a healthcare consulting firm, driving the onboarding, ongoing skill development, and career pathing of the sales department (more than 1,000 staff members) through over 20 innovative programs. She then became a licensed school counselor (which is parallel training to a Social Worker or LMHC) after earning both a Masters of Education and a Certificate of Advanced Studies from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. After several years working in schools and nonprofits as a counselor and Program Director, Hannah started her own business with the mission to transform our next generation of leaders.
